First launched in May 2010 by Caroline Pover, JSN is reminiscent of newsletters from the school days of the parents’ of today’s generation, intended to be a little bit nostalgic in its look and feel, and to focus on individual and school news and achievements.
10,000 copies are distributed to over 500 locations throughout Japan. Outlets include business class airline lounges, bookstores, cafes, restaurants, places of worship, embassies, hotels, immigration offices, doctor’s clinics and medical centres, relocation companies, major corporations, fitness centres, beauty salons, libraries, supermarkets, private members’ clubs, foreign residences, ward offices, and schools themselves.
Japan School News is free of advertising, yet maintains such an extensive distribution through member schools paying a monthly membership fee, and the support of Evergreen Outdoor Center. For membership information, contact email@example.com.
